Converting Existing Customers into Affiliates
You should consider converting all your existing customers or users into affiliates (you can do this with Solid Affiliate). Incentivize them and educate them on the opportunity to earn while helping your business. Or maybe they don’t even care about earning and just want to help your business while getting some recognition/passing along a discount to their acquaintances. Try promoting your affiliate program in your newsletters and share affiliate coupons with attractive discount campaigns.
Offering High Commission Rates
Offering an extremely high commission rate to get the ball rolling. We personally did 50% for the first 6 months and attracted quality affiliates. If you search “solid Affiliate reviews” on YouTube, a lot of those videos suddenly started popping up during this initial batch of 50% commissions. And, making it clear that this is a special limited-time affiliate commission opportunity. An early adopter advantage; is that there is so much low-hanging fruit opportunity because your affiliate program is new. (The rate you can offer is totally dependent on your business of course). It’s also important to vary the affiliate profiles you work with to appear across your target audience’s entire path to purchase: coupon sites, deal sites, general influencers, specific influencers, developers, designers, bloggers, etc….they will all have the audience’s attention at different points in the customer journey.
Targeting Diverse Affiliate Profiles
Consider reaching out to a wider audience, and target a variety of affiliate profiles, such as coupon sites, deal sites, general influencers, specific influencers, developers, designers, bloggers, etc. These profiles will all have the audience’s attention at different points in the customer journey, increasing the chances of conversions.
Reaching Out to Competitors’ Affiliates
Finding your competitors’ affiliates and reaching out to them can be a valuable strategy. Look for websites or YouTube channels that link to your competitors, and inspect the links to see if they are affiliate links. These individuals and websites are already in the business of being an affiliate in your industry and may be interested in working with you as well.
Providing Helpful Resources on Your Website
Add landing pages, blog content, and competition analysis to your site with action-oriented content to increase conversion and make your affiliates’ life easier when recommending your business.
Manual Cold Outreach to Prospect Affiliates
Consider manual cold outreach to prospect affiliates, particularly over YouTube, where it’s relatively easy to get in contact with YouTubers. Look for their email address in the “For business inquiries” section of their YouTube channel’s “About” page, or leave a professional and thoughtful comment on one of their videos mentioning them. High-quality YouTubers usually monitor their comments and may respond to your outreach.
